Woman driving over three teenagers put under house arrest

A lady driver, who hit three teenagers standing at the side of an inner road, was put under house arrest.

According to the press service of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, on June 6, a 42-year-old driver, who hit three teenagers on the side of an inner road on June 4, was charged with Part 2 of Article 266 (Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by a person driving a vehicle, resulting in the death of a person) of the Criminal Code.

The Yunusabad district court on criminal proceedings, taking into account the fact that Larisa T. has three minor children and is the sole breadwinner in the family, not previously convicted, has a permanent place of residence and work, chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest in relation to the accused (Article 242-1 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

As per the report of the press service, the court established the following prohibitions (restrictions) for the accused Larisa T.:

- to receive and send correspondence in any form (except for correspondence related to pension and social security, with educational and health institutions, paying taxes and other utility bills, as well as other than correspondence with the bodies of inquiry, investigation and court);

- to use any means of communication and to negotiate with their use, except in cases of the need for emergency communication with ambulance, fire and other special services, educational and health institutions (in accordance with the requirements of Article 242-1 of the Criminal Procedural Code on each such call  the suspect, the accused or the defendant reports to the internal affairs authority at the place of residence responsible for execution of the house arrest), as well as with exception of negotiations with lawyers, legal representatives and a representative of the internal affairs body entrusted with the execution of house arrest;

- the accused can leave the home from 8:00 to 19:00 hours only in order to go to work, of which the accused is obliged to notify the authority responsible for the execution of the house arrest.  (Exceptions: the purchase of food, drugs and other necessary items, payment of utilities, which must be notified to the internal affairs body at the place of residence, which is responsible for the execution of house arrest).

It should be recalled that as a result of an accident, one boy died on the spot, the other with injuries was taken to hospital. Doctors evaluate his condition as stable. The third boy was examined on an outpatient basis, after which he was allowed to go home.
