AMMC to increase extraction of precious metals from ore
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) is working to increase the volume of extraction of precious metals from ore, the press service of the company reports.
The first step in this work was the observed dynamic increase in gold extraction at the Angren mine department (AMD). Since December 2018, extraction of precious metals from ore increased by 2% at the site.
“This became possible through the use of new reagents that were not previously used in our factory. After receiving positive results from laboratory and pilot tests in December 2018, new reagents were used in the production process. In addition, we launched an additional ore mill with a capacity of 15–20 tons per hour, due to which, from April, ore processing has increased by 10%. Two new press filters are working in normal mode,” noted the head of the production and technical department at the AMD Ilyos Turanbayev.
Two new “Simba” drilling rigs of the Swedish company Atlas Copco were obtained for the “Exploration” and “Kyzyl Olma” mines to replace the outdated ones. This will allow to increase labor productivity several times, since one new machine can replace two old machines.
The last time the reconstruction and expansion of the production capacity of the Angren mine department was carried out in 2006-2007.
Then the design capacity for the extraction of ore was increased to 600 thousand tons per year. At present, thanks to the innovations introduced and the modernization of production, the mining and processing of ore exceeds 740 thousand tons per year.
