“Good-neighborly relations between Russia and Uzbekistan have a great future” – Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev congratulated compatriots on the Day of Russia and wished the two fraternal peoples prosperity and further strengthening of economic, humanitarian and cultural ties.

In his speech, the head of the Russian diplomatic mission emphasized that mutual respect and equal partnership between Tashkent and Moscow is an indicator of the unity of the two nations.

“It is a great honor for me to once again celebrate the Day of Russia in the hospitable Uzbek land, where the million diaspora of our compatriots live in peace and harmony. They not only make their own contribution to the prosperity of the republic, but also help to strengthen the centuries-old ties of friendship between our nations. Today Uzbekistan – our key partner in Central Asia, relations with which are built on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, respect and consideration of each other’s interests,” Vladimir Tyurdenev said.

According to him, the proof of a high level of trust between the countries is constant contacts at different levels and in various spheres. Dozens of investment projects, including the largest one, concern the first NPP construction in Central Asia. Humanitarian cooperation has also reached a new level: in the autumn of this year, branches of several Russian universities — MGIMO, MEI and MEPhI — are opening in the republic.

“I am convinced that good-neighborly relations between Russia and Uzbekistan have a great future. We are sincerely interested in the sustainable development and prosperity of each other, enhancing authority and strengthening positions in the region and internationally,” the Russian ambassador concluded.

Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia on a state holiday.

In Russia, starting from 2002, June 12 is celebrated as the Day of Russia. The holiday itself was approved in 1991 on the occasion of adoption of the Sovereignty Declaration of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR).
