A new TV channel of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine will soon begin functioning in Almalyk, the press service of the company reported.
“The new TV channel OKMK TV is not a novelty, we have already had the Almalyk TV television studio. Twice a week – on Saturday and Sunday – it broadcasts programs in our city for a short period of time. It reports on the most important events of the week at the combine and in the city,” editor-in-chief of the OKMK TV Umida Karshibayeva said.
According to her, in Uzbekistan, not a single large enterprise has its own television channel, so the AMMC will be the first and so far the only one in this regard.
“We always wanted to develop and, even at the stage of the TV studio work, we understood that it was very little, and so it was decided to create our own TV channel. When we informed the management of the combine about our plans, they approved this idea. But they asked not to hurry and wait for the decision of trustee manager – IP SFI Management Group,” she said.
The expert group described in detail future programs, all costs, including equipment, which turned out to be quite substantial. Then the stage of agonizing wait for opening the television studio began, Karshibayeva noted.
In addition to the plans, the SFI Management Group promised to finance the erection of a new media center building, which will house both the TV channel and a large circulation newspaper “For nonferrous metals”, and our radio station.
“Now, the issue with the license is being resolved, our channel is broadcasting in a test mode. But the locals are looking forward to the launch of television programs of the new channel. At first, it will be released daily in digital format with a 12-hour broadcasting schedule. There will be news of AMMC, sports and cultural events held in our city, ad units. 25% of the broadcasting network will be devoted to youth – we will prepare these programs together with the Youth Union of our enterprise,” Umida Karshibayeva said.
She also added that the main goal of the new TV channel is to provide the public with an opportunity of free viewing of interesting content in digital quality.
