Excise tax on importation of electric vehicles canceled

Excise tax on the importation of electric vehicles has been abolished, follows from the presidential decree.

From January 1, 2019, a zero rate of customs duty has been established on the importation of electric vehicles (TN VED code 870380). As for the excise tax, the rate of 30% was set for the entire group of goods 8703.

Now the excise tax rate for electric cars has become zero (the rate has remained the same for other cars). Thus, now when importing electric vehicles it is enough to pay VAT.

Earlier, it was reported that since the beginning of the year, citizens of Uzbekistan have imported 20 electric vehicles.
