Taliban is ready to consider participation in inter-Afghan dialogue in Samarkand if invited – Süheyl Şahin
“The Taliban movement in Afghanistan has not yet received an invitation to participate in the inter-Afghan dialogue in Uzbekistan, but if it does, I am ready to consider it,” an official representative of the Taliban political office in Qatar Süheyl Şahin reported RIA Novosti about it.
Earlier, 1TV channel, citing the participants of the previous conference held on July 7-8 in Qatar, reported that the inter-Afghan meeting will take place in three or four weeks in Samarkand. The source also told the TV channel that the parties will sign a preliminary peace treaty in the next two weeks.
“The date of the meeting in Uzbekistan has not yet been determined, but if we receive an invitation from Uzbekistan, we will consider it,” Süheyl Şahin said.
It should be recalled that the inter-Afghan conference in Doha (in Qatar) took place on July 7-8. The two-day conference was attended by over 60 Afghan representatives, including members of the Taliban movement. After a long debate on the night of July 9, delegates adopted a final statement in which they pledged to reduce the losses among the civilian population of Afghanistan to zero and ensure the protection of educational and medical institutions.
