Uzbekistan sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
Uzbekistan has delivered another batch of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, with a handover ceremony held on May 25 in Hairatan, Balkh province, to mark the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The aid, assembled at the Termez Cargo Centre, consisted primarily of food products and other essential first-aid supplies. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the consignment will be distributed among residents of Balkh, Badakhshan, Baghlan, and other northern provinces that were recently affected by severe flooding.

The Deputy Governor of Balkh province, Abu Idris, expressed particular gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for his continued support of and care for the Afghan people.
"This is yet another vivid expression of the President of Uzbekistan's genuine brotherly attitude toward the people of Afghanistan," the ministry said in a statement.

This marks the second humanitarian shipment Uzbekistan has sent to Afghanistan in 2026. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Kabul has been paying close attention to Uzbekistan's efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and develop trade and economic cooperation – a dynamic that has contributed to a notable rise in Afghan export volumes and improvements in the socioeconomic well-being of the Afghan population.
