Khokim of the Fergana region Shukhrat Ganiyev, head of the Kashkadarya Zafar Ruziyev and his counterpart from Khorezm Farkhod Ermanov publicly apologized to local residents.
“I will say openly that we made a big mistake. As a khokim of the region, I am also to be blamed. We must not negatively affect the reforms that are being implemented in our country. Demolition of the dekhkan market is not related to the president’s policy,” regional khokim of Fergana Shukhrat Ganiyev said.
In turn, he apologized to the locals. He also said that employees of the district administration and other organizations were to be blamed. The regional khokim said that he fired 14 employees who were involved in demolitions in the Rishtan district.
Khokim of the Kashkadarya region Zafar Ruziyev also apologized.
“The decision to turn the old Yakkabag into a comfortable village was made by the regional administration. The administrations of the region and district are to be blamed for this situation. I apologize to the government, state, people, respected bloggers, respected journalists, entrepreneurs who have suffered in this situation, and bow to them,” he said.
He also admitted that he made a grave mistake. At the same time, he asked residents not to build unauthorized buildings.
“We must build shops and houses for the long term so that 5-6 generations use these facilities,” he said.
Following his colleagues, the regional khokim of Khorezm Farkhod Ermanov also publicly apologized.
“We have created a lot of problems for you due to ill-conceived work. I plead guilty. If we had planned everything timely and calculated all the details correctly, there would not have been such events. We know that the Ashgabat mahalla is located in the industrial zone. There was no infrastructure here, and we wanted to improve your life, but as a result of ill-considered actions, this incident happened,” he said.
He emphasized that he supported the policies and reforms of the president. The khokim also admitted that his actions did not meet the modern requirements of life.
“As a son of Khorezm, I apologize to the president and the people. I promise that I will now consult with elderly and local residents,” he said.
The regional khokim also said that some officials were fired, while others received reprimands.
It should be recalled that on August 2, a video-conference meeting, chaired by the President of Uzbekistan, was held to analyze the ongoing work on the development of small business and entrepreneurship.
During the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev severely criticized the khokims of the Fergana, Kashkadarya and Khorezm regions for their faults.
