Deputies discuss draft law strengthening responsibility of government members
On August 6, 2019, at a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, deputies discussed a number of bills aimed at legal support of ongoing reforms in various areas of the country's socio-political life.
At the meeting, the draft law “On Amendments and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Cabinet of Ministers” was discussed in first reading.
It was emphasized that the current law does not fully reflect relations associated with the activities of the government, the responsibility of members of the Cabinet of Ministers (CM) for the specific area and industry assigned to them, as well as the criteria for their assessment.
According to the deputies, the adoption of this bill will serve to eliminate gaps in the legislative acts regulating the activities of the CM, precisely determining the authorities of the government and the responsibility of its members. Legislative acts of different levels will be summarized in a single law of direct action.
