Egyptian low-cost airline company Nile Air enters market of Uzbekistan
Air transportation to Sharm el-Sheikh will increase thanks to the emergence of a new Egyptian low-cost airline on the market of Uzbekistan, the Antimonopoly Committee press service said.
Nile Air airline appealed to the committee asking for help in obtaining the necessary slots for flights on the route Sharm El Sheikh - Tashkent - Sharm El Sheikh.
The committee found out that today only one Egyptian airline, Al Masria, is engaged in air transportation on this route. Nile Air has repeatedly applied to Uzbekistan Airways asking for unrestricted slots for this route, but has not received a positive response.
In this regard, the committee organized a meeting at the Ministry of Transport, where the issue of providing Nile Air with an appropriate slot was discussed with representatives of Uzbekistan Airways. According to the committee, this will help create healthy competition.
As a result, Uzbekistan Airways agreed on slots for Nile Air, so the Egyptian company is ready to start its first flight on August 21 this year.
