Customs officers discover illegal import of 1.1 billion soums worth Chinese smartphones into Uzbekistan
As a result of an operational event conducted by employees of the Anti-Smuggling and Combating Customs Legislation Infringement Department of the Namangan, an illegal import of smartphones worth 1 billion 100 million soums was detected.
According to the State Customs Committee, on the basis of the received information, a house, belonging to a resident of the Namangan city citizen A. A., was inspected in accordance with the established manner.
As a result of checks, in the passenger compartment and luggage compartment of Chevrolet Cobalt and Nexia 3 cars parked in the courtyard of the house, foreign-made cell phones were found without any relevant documents.
Reportedly, the total value of the discovered 867 units of Redmi and Huawei cell phones amounted to 1 billion 100 million 102 thousand soums.
Currently, customs checks are being carried out on the fact.
