Justice Ministry: Privatized land plots will not be levied a tax on land
On August 15, the Ministry of Justice organized a press conference to explain the essence and significance of the Law “On privatization of non-agricultural land plots”.
Specialists of the sphere during the event informed journalists in detail about the innovations introduced to the law. As noted, land plots that are privatized by individuals and legal entities will not be levied a tax on land. For the full implementation of this law, relevant decrees and execution mechanisms will be developed.
In particular, it was noted that in accordance with the law, land privatization is carried out in the following forms:
- purchase by legal entities and individuals of land plots that are owned for permanent use or inherited for lifetime possession;
- sale of land through an electronic online auction.
Privatization of land can be carried out by individuals – citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and legal entities – residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the following land plots are not subject to privatization:
- located in territories that do not have approved and published planning schemes;
- on which mineral deposits are located (strategic objects of state property that are not subject to privatization, the list of which is determined in accordance with the law);
- included in the list of environmental, recreational and historical-cultural places, as well as lands of forest and water funds, squares, streets, driveways, roads, embankments, boulevards;
- infected with hazardous substances and susceptible to biogenic infection;
- provided to participants of free economic and small industrial zones.
The law comes into force on March 1, 2020.
