Israeli ASHRA to establish practical cooperation with Uzbekistan
On August 20, 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel held a roundtable to promote the investment potential of the republic, to attract Israeli business and finance to the implementation of joint projects, the MFA press service reports.
The event was organized jointly with the state foreign trade risks insurance corporation ASHRA – a key agency that insures political and commercial risks of Israeli companies implementing projects abroad.
The roundtable was attended by the ASHRA Chief Executive Officer Nisim Ben Eli and his Deputy David Klein, Senior Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Michal Levy, as well as representatives of about 20 Israeli companies from various fields.
The Israeli side noted the large-scale socio-economic transformations in Uzbekistan, the growing potential against this background for the establishment of Uzbek-Israeli cooperation in various fields, including agriculture and agricultural technologies, healthcare, energy and ICT. The importance of further expanding cooperation in the banking-financial sector was emphasized. This will also make it possible to fully utilize the ASHRA mechanism when attracting financial resources from Israel to implement joint projects.
An agreement was reached on working out a visit of the ASHRA delegation at a senior level to Uzbekistan this year to establish practical cooperation with relevant departments of the republic.
