US Ambassador proposes to send 40 university professors from Uzbekistan to US for internship
US Ambassador Daniel Rosenblum has proposed to send 40 university professors from Uzbekistan to the United States for internship, the press service of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education reported.
“Universities themselves choose the form of cooperation, but we want to offer two new programs of interaction. These include organizing the departure of 40 Uzbek teachers to the USA for internship at American universities for one semester and sending 60 students from your country to complete their internship at higher education institutions in the USA,” the ambassador said at a meeting with Inom Majidov, the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
He especially emphasized transformations in the system of professional education, which were strictly regulated for a long time and did not allow any innovations. The task now is to make this stage of education more effective and flexible with respect to the terms of study, educational programs and forms of training.
The Minister stressed that the work to improve the quality of education, enhance the educational process, publish new textbooks and provide teaching aids remain as priorities.
“An important aspect is the issue of continuing to improve qualification of faculty teachers. These and other issues may be the subject of bilateral cooperation between our countries, especially within the framework of direct inter-university cooperation,” Majidov said.
