SSS officers discover a criminal group engaged in illegal extraction of precious metals
On September 11, 2019, during the operational-search measures in the Navoi region and the city of Tashkent, employees of the State Security Service uncovered the activities of an organized criminal group, the SSS press service told Kun.uz.
Members of the criminal group were engaged in illegal extraction of gold ore and exported to India.
Following the operational events, a large consignment of gold items, currency values, as well as equipment for smelting and production of gold jewelry were seized from the detainees.
Currently, an investigation is underway. Identities of the criminal group members are not disclosed yet.
