UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt to visit Uzbekistan
UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt will visit Uzbekistan on September 17-19, 2019, the “Yuksalish” Nationwide Movement reported.
Todt intends to meet with Uzbek officials, representatives of the private sector, civil society and youth.
In particular, he plans to voice the UN commitment to support the government in improving road safety indicators in the country, encourage Uzbekistan to join and successfully implement the seven major UN conventions on road safety.
Among the goals of the visit is the presentation of the UN Road Safety Trust Fund, aimed at supporting the efforts of member states in this area.
The “Yuksalish” office will host meetings of the special envoy with representatives of NGOs, taxi companies, and young people.
