Cabinet of Ministers: Registration of new mobile phones to be carried out on a fixed fee basis

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On approval of the Regulation on registration of mobile devices used, imported and produced for sale or personal use in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

According to the document, registration of mobile devices used, imported and produced for sale or personal use in the territory of the republic in the registration system of mobile devices using IMEI codes is carried out:

- until November 1, 2019 - in an automatic mode by connecting (activating) them to the networks of mobile operators, for free of charge;

- from November 1, 2019 - when individuals, importers and manufacturing organizations file an appeal asking for connecting to the registration system of mobile devices using IMEI codes in accordance with the regulation, for free of charge;

- from December 1, 2019 - when individuals, importers and manufacturing organizations file an appeal asking for connecting to the registration system of mobile devices using IMEI codes in accordance with the regulation, on a paid basis.

At the same time, mobile devices that have already been registered are not subject to re-registration.

It should be recalled that from April 1, Uzbekistan has begun automatic registration of all mobile devices used in the networks of GSM-operators.
