UNIATF awards Shavkat Mirziyoyev 

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been awarded the United Nations Interagency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of NCDs (UNIATF). 

According to the “Yuksalish” Movement, at the 11th UNIATF meeting (November 8-9, 2018) in Geneva, it was decided to set up an annual award to recognize and promote the achievements of those who have made a significant contribution to the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

In February 2019, nominations for the following four categories were announced:

Ministries of Health (or public institutions under the Ministry of Health);

Ministries (or government agencies) other than the healthcare sector;

Non-governmental entities (nongovernmental organizations, academic circles or charities);

United Nations Country Team (UNCT).
