China intends to launch charter flights to Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva
On September 27, the embassy of Uzbekistan in the People’s Republic of China jointly with Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd. and Western Airport Group organized the inauguration of the first charter flight on the Xi'an-Tashkent-Xi'an route.
The event was attended by Shaanxi Provincial Governor Fan Guanghua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Western Airport Group Wang Haipeng and Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd. Liu Qihong, as well as other representatives of the official and business circles of China.
The provincial vice-governor noted that Uzbekistan and China have a long history of interaction on the ancient Silk Road and broad prospects for cooperation. The opening of the Xi'an-Tashkent-Xi'an flight will serve as a new impetus in the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between our countries and prosperity of our peoples.
Wang Haipeng, Western Airport Group Board Chairman, expressed special gratitude to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China for all possible support in organizing the first charter flight.
The head of Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd., Liu Qihong said that the event is a clear indication of strengthening of relations between the two countries. “The first charter flight is the beginning of a new stage of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, aimed at developing the tourism industry,” he said.
According to Liu Qihong, the company has already begun working with the Uzbek side to organize charter flights to Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
