A man, attempting to smuggle gold bullion in his mouth, detained at Tashkent airport
At the Tashkent International Airport, a man, who was attempting to smuggle gold bullion in his mouth, was detained, the press service of the State Customs Committee (SCC) reported.
Reportedly, employees of the customs post “Tashkent-AERO” were suspicious of the strange behavior of a passenger M. A., while he was crossing the customs border through the “green” corridor to travel abroad.
“Customs officers were alerted by the fact that he was very nervous, as a result of which it was decided to conduct a thorough customs inspection with participation of witnesses using modern scanning equipment,” the SCC said.
It turned out that this citizen tried to take two gold bars out of the country holding them in his mouth, the total weight of which was 213 grams. Gold bars worth 70 million soums were seized as material evidence.
Currently, customs checks are being carried out on the fact of violation.
