Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to President of Latvia
On November 5, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov presented his credentials to the President of Latvia Egils Levits, the MFA press service said.
During the conversation that followed the ceremony, Egils Levits emphasized that his country supports large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
An exchange of views also took place on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations, including the European Union, the UN, and prospects for regional development in Central Asia. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening contacts between peoples (people-to-people ties). The prospects for further development of cooperation in the field of education were emphasized.
The meeting was also attended by the Advisor to the President of Latvia on foreign policy Solveiga Silkalna.
