Valdai Discussion Club’s 10th Asian Conference kicks off in Samarkand

In Samarkand, the work of the 10th Asian Conference of the Valdai Discussion Club began.
The event is being attended by more than 80 authoritative experts from 11 countries, including Uzbekistan, Russia, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, India, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
According to the program, on the first day of the conference, a meeting of experts will be held as part of the special session “Uzbekistan – Russia”, devoted to considering the prospects for development of long-term relations between the two countries.
Before the meeting, bilateral talks were held between the director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov and the Board Chairman of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Andrei Bystritsky.
During the talks, the parties agreed on cooperation between experts of the two countries and to increase the intensity of contacts in the field of studies of international and regional processes.
Following the results of negotiations, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies and the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club.
