Uzbekistan to introduce VAR system from 2021, allow bookmakers to carry out bookkeeping activities

Starting from 2021, VAR system will be introduced in Uzbekistan Football Championships. This is stated in the draft presidential decree “On measures to take football development to a new level in Uzbekistan”.

The document also says that based on the international experience, the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system will be introduced to ensure fairness and transparency during matches between the Super League teams in accordance with the requirements of the FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Also, from January 1, 2021, bookmakers are allowed to carry out bookkeeping activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to further develop the sport, especially football, increase its investment attractiveness, and attract additional funds.
