Restrictions on sale of tobacco and alcohol products expanded
A new draft law, which envisages a number of restrictions on the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, has been published by the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the document, the sale of alcohol and tobacco products is prohibited to and by persons under 20 years of age; through vending machines and Internet; in the absence of appropriate notification about the danger of such products and excise stamps; on the territories of sports, educational, medical and religious institutions as well as in other forms prohibited by the law.
It should be recalled that recently the Ministry of Justice passed the state registration of the resolution “On the revision of the minimum wholesale and retail prices for alcoholic beverages”, in accordance with which prices for such products increased considerably starting from November 1.
