A system of mandatory accounting and monitoring of cotton fiber volumes to be introduced
The Cabinet of Ministers approved measures for the further development of cotton and textile production, Norma reports.
Starting from the 2020 cotton harvest, 14 cotton-textile clusters and industries are being reformed in selected areas of Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Syrdarya and Khorezm regions;
In addition, the cultivated area of 18 clusters and production will increase in Andijan, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya, Tashkent and Fergana regions.
Ginning enterprises and procurement points are sold to individual manufacturers according to the approved list. Payment will be made at an estimated cost with a 5-year installment plan. To finance the cost of raw cotton production next year, textile workers will receive loans from the State Support Fund for Agriculture. Autumn agricultural activities will be carried out at the expense of loans allocated by the Fund to commercial banks.
The document provides for a two-month period to develop a single automated system for the mandatory accounting and monitoring of cotton fiber volumes produced by all ginning enterprises.
The system will be introduced experimentally to all organizers, starting from the period of processing raw materials for the 2020 harvest.
