Mirziyoyev and Abe to sign a joint statement on expanding the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe will sign a joint statement on expanding the strategic partnership following the visit of the Uzbek leader to Japan. This was announced by Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies Sanjar Valiyev.
Mirziyoyev’s visit will last from December 17 to 20.
“One of the main documents that will be signed will be a joint statement on further deepening and expanding the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan,” Valiyev said. The parties signed a joint statement on friendship, strategic partnership and cooperation in 2002.
According to Valiyev, the visit is expected to be “fruitful”. “It is planned to sign a package of intergovernmental agreements in the field of taxation, customs, and providing soft loans in the framework of the Official Development Assistance program,” he said.
