Secretary General of Asian Parliamentary Assembly assesses the organization of elections in Uzbekistan as positive
On December 23, 2019, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dilshod Akhatov met with the Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Mohammad Reza Majidi, who arrived as an observer at the elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis and local Councils.
During the meeting, Mohammad Reza Majidi noted the good organization of the voting process and the skillful leadership in the field. It was emphasized that the active participation of voters in the elections is a confirmation of the support of the population on the political course to strengthen the role of representative authorities in the socio-political life of the country and address socio-economic issues.
The parties showed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation between the new parliament of Uzbekistan and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
The parties also discussed practical issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and APA.
