Head of Andijan city administration’s press service charged over libel

An administrative case has been initiated against Gulshanoy Kashkarova, head of the Andijan city administration’s press service, under Article 40 (libel) of the Administrative Code of Uzbekistan for trying to blacken the name of Khurshid Daliyev, the founder of the Human.uz website.

According to the complaint filed by Khurshid Daliyev, journalist and blogger, this decision was made following the investigation conducted by the Andijan police department.

It turned out that Gulshanoy Kashkarova openly insulted Daliyev and used slanderous words on her telegram page on the Andijan city administration’s Telegram channel.

The documents collected by the Department of Internal Affairs were sent to the administrative court of Andijan for consideration in the prescribed manner.
