In 2019, Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.5 percent against the forecast of 5.4 percent, the Ministry of Economy and Industry reports.

The GDP growth rate was higher than in 2018 (5.1 percent), which was facilitated by the growth of industry (6.4 percent - forecast 5.2 percent), construction (11.8 percent - forecast 8.4 percent) and services (6.1 percent - forecast 6.3 percent).

GDP per capita amounted to $1,741 and grew by 13.6 percent compared to 2018 ($1,553 in 2018).

Despite the devaluation of the national currency in 2017, GDP in 2019 reached almost the pre-devaluation period in dollar terms (GDP in 2017 was $59.1 billion, in 2019 - $58.3 billion).

The share of services sector in the total GDP growth was 1.9 percent, industry - 1.5 percent, agriculture - 0.9 percent, construction - 0.6 percent, and net taxes - 0.6 percent.
