Major traffic accident occurs in Samarkand 

Today, January 13, in the Nurabad district, Samarkand region a major traffic accident occurred.

The incident occurred on the Samarkand-Karshi highway. Allegedly, ice-crusted ground caused the accident.

Kun.uz correspondents visited the scene to clarify the situation.

The accident occurred at around 1pm. As a result of the crash, about 20 cars were damaged, causing traffic jams.

Officers and employees of the regional police, traffic safety and emergency arrived at the scene.

Representatives of the regional Department of Internal Affairs told Kun.uz that due to the low temperature, ice was formed on the highway, and visibility deteriorated because of intermittent afternoon fog.

No casualties were reported.
