Pickpockets detained in Tashkent’s mosques

On January 19, at 15:30, in the Shaykhantakhur district, 22-year-old Islom A., while being in a mosque, stole a mobile phone worth 1,625,000 soums from the pocket of a jacket belonging to 22-year-old Sanjar N. and fled from the scene, the press service of the police department reports.
The suspect is detained. A criminal case has been instituted against him under Article 169 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
On January 22, at 15:00, an unknown person, being in the territory of a mosque in the Almazar district, stole from the pocket of a jacket belonging to 44-year-old Munojiddin P. $800. In the course of the measures taken, using the recording from an outdoor video surveillance camera, 39-year-old Bohodir T. was detained on suspicion of theft.
A criminal case has been instituted on this fact under Article 169 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code. Preventive measure of detention has been applied against him.
