A one-year-old child dies in road accident in Navoi region

Two people, including one-year-old child, have become victims of a traffic accident in Navoi region, the press service of the Investigation Department reported.

The accident occurred on the night of February 9 on the A-379 “Zarafshan-Navoi” highway, which runs through the Konimekh district. A 24-year-old Lacetti driver R. N. exceeded the speed limit, lost control of the vehicle and jumped onto the opposite lane. As a result, he collided with a Nexia, which was operated by 23-year-old N. J.

The driver of Nexia died on the spot. There was also a child inside the car – the baby died in the intensive care unit, doctors could not save his life.

The Investigation Department of the Konimekh district opened a criminal case under paragraph “a”, part 3 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (“Violation of traffic safety rules”). A preliminary investigation is underway.
