“There are not enough flights to serve a large number of foreign tourists” – Abdukhakimov
According to the Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Uzbekistan has a shortage of flights to serve a large number of foreign tourists visiting the country.
Today, February 19, Uzbekistan Aviation Airports Logistics Forum (UAALF-2020) started its work in Tashkent, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Deputy PM, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov said that there is a shortage of flights in Uzbekistan to serve foreign tourists.
“At present, the number of flights in Uzbekistan to serve foreign tourists is not enough, there is a shortage indeed. If there were additional flights, the number of tourists would increase.
In this regard, the President made a decision to eliminate all gaps in the aviation industry, to establish an open-air regime, to reconstruct airports, ground equipment, and navigation systems, and to attract foreign airlines and partners to assist us in this matter.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan can soon become an important transit hub for transcontinental flights.
Uzbekistan has significantly improved its price competitiveness compared to other countries. A number of new incentives are currently being developed in the country to attract investment in the aviation sector.
One of the reasons for holding this forum is the need for your assistance, that is, we would like you to contribute to the development of tourism in our country, the development of aviation transport, the development of multimodal transportation, the integration of different types of transport into a single chain,” A. Abdukhakimov said.
