EBRD to finance projects on construction and reconstruction of roads in Khorezm
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance the construction and reconstruction of roads in the Khorezm region.
A relevant agreement was signed during the visit of the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov to London to participate in a meeting of the bank’s board of directors.
In accordance with the document, the bank will provide long-term financing to the Republic of Uzbekistan for the construction of roads in the Khorezm region, the ministry’s press service said, without specifying the details of the agreement.
It is noted that in the message of Umurzakov at the meeting, the position of Uzbekistan on the main areas of cooperation with the EBRD, the issues of strategic development of the bank in the medium term were reflected.
“In this context, the need for a radical increase in the effectiveness of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD is substantiated with an increase in the volume of new economically and socially significant projects in priority sectors,” the press service said.
