Deputy dean of a university in Samarkand caught red-handed while receiving $4,000 in bribe
The Prosecutor General’s Office announced the detention of a deputy dean of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service. In exchange for a bribe, he promised to transfer a student from Kazakhstan to a university in Uzbekistan.
During an operational event held by the Samarkand regional Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the State Security Service, the fraudster was detained, the head of the PGO press service reported.
A university employee was detained at the time of receiving $4,000 as a reward for transferring a student studying in a higher educational institution of Kazakhstan to the Samarkand State University.
A criminal case has been opened against the deputy dean of the Institute. An investigation is underway.
