The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan is expected to be transformed into the Ministry of Digital Development, follows from a draft presidential decree.
According to the document, the new department should focus on a unified state policy in the development of digital technologies and communications, as well as on the development and modernization of digital infrastructure.
It is also planned to create an e-government project management center, a digital economy study center, an off-budget digital technology development fund under the ministry, and transform the Information and Communication Technology Development Fund into a Telecommunication Infrastructure and Communications Development Fund.
