Administrative liability to be introduced for carrying cold weapons in public places
Amendments to be introduced to certain legislative documents soon.
The Law “On the introduction of amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan” has been announced for discussion.
The Administrative Responsibility Code of Uzbekistan will be supplemented with the following new contents:
Article 185-2. Carrying items that can be used as weapons
Items that can be used as a weapon are to be confiscated from owner, in case he carries them in public places, irrespective of their professional or sports activities or for household purposes. Carrier will also be fined 5 times the base calculating amount.
Carrying a civilian weapon (except for a self-defense purpose), a cold weapon and other items that may be used as a cold weapon will result in their confiscation and a fine of ten to twenty times the base calculating amount or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days will be imposed.
Article 185-3. Illegal handling of cold weapons
Use of blades and knives with a length of ninety millimeters, which are automatically lifted and bolted at the push of a button or ankle, or automatically mounted on the force or speed, and specially designed for use as a weapon, as well as other blunt and projectile weapons (brass, cassettes, shuriken, boomerangs and others), their Illegal production, manufacture, transportation, storage, and also their illegal import into the Republic of Uzbekistan (or export) will result in fine from twenty to forty times the base calculating amount and confiscation of them, administrative arrest for up to fifteen days may be imposed.
