Medical staff to be paid additional salary during the quarantine period
Uzbekistan is considering the issue of allocating additional salaries for medical workers involved in anti-epidemic activities during the quarantine period, which is announced due to the coronavirus. This was stated by the director of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing Agency Bahrom Almatov.
“The issue of raising the salaries of specialists involved in the treatment of patients during the quarantine period is being considered. Funds may be allocated from the Special Fund for this purpose. Probably, this issue will be solved in the near future,” Bahrom Almatov said.
According to the head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Inspectorate Nurmat Atabekov, there is no need for volunteers to help combat coronavirus.
“There are 75,000 physicians with higher education and 400,000 nurses with secondary education in the country. Therefore, there is a sufficient number of expert forces in the fight against coronavirus. In Uzbekistan, this virus is not spread in the form of epidemics. Patients, who are infected with the virus, have been localized. Therefore, Uzbekistan does not need the help of volunteers,” Nurmat Atabekov said.
