Kazakh woman tests positive for coronavirus after visiting Uzbekistan for a wedding
The press service of the khokim of Almaty region announced the details of two new infection cases in the region, Tengrinews.kz said.
According to the agency, two cases were registered in two districts of the region. The first case was registered in the village of Kemertogan, Karasai district; 41-year-old woman tested positive for coronavirus. She is currently hospitalized in the infectious diseases hospital of Karasay district. Eight people she had been in contact with, including her spouse and her child, are quarantined.
The second case was registered in Enbekshikazakh district. A woman born in 1960, together with relatives, visited a wedding in Turtkul (Karakalpakstan). They returned home to the city of Esik on March 26. Consequently, on March 27, all fourteen people were isolated in a hospital and tested there.
The results of the test confirmed that the mentioned woman was infected with COVID-19. She was also hospitalized in the infectious diseases hospital of Karasay district.
