Uzbekistan purchases 200,000 test kits from China
In accordance with the presidential order, the necessary medical and protective equipment were imported from China.
By order of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, 200,000 virus detection kits and 50,000 disposable protective equipment were purchased from China on March 28. According to a Kun.uz correspondent, the total weight of the medical cargo brought on the military plane was about 20 tons.
The plane also transported various medical supplies worth 2.5 billion soums – humanitarian aid provided by the People's Republic of China.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision that medical and protective equipment with estimated cost of 16 billion soums will be purchased on March 31, and on April 3 – equipment worth 45 billion soums. All the purchases are made at the expense of funds allocated for the fight against coronavirus and products will be delivered on military aircraft.
In particular, considering foreign experience in this field, special “red zone” uniforms for health workers were purchased.
