More than 70 thousand people have been tested for coronavirus by April 9, announces the Chief State Sanitary Inspector, Nurmat Otabekov.

Currently, 582 cases of coronavirus infection are recorded in the country. “According to the Research Institute of Virology, 25 out of 99 patients treated in this institution have symptoms of pneumonia. 7 patients are in serious condition. Three out of 88 patients undergoing treatment at the Research Institute of Epidemiology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases are in serious condition,” Otabekov said.
According to him, more than 70 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan have already undergone testing for coronavirus.
“On April 8 alone, out of 9 thousand citizens, 35 tested positive for coronavirus. This means that we continue to identify infection in those 86 thousand people who are now under quarantine,” he said.
To note, the number of death cases due to coronavirus in Uzbekistan is 3, and the total number of cured is 38.
