“As the Andijan international airport is not operating, our citizens are forced to fly abroad through neighboring state airports.
Within a month, the heads of relevant ministries and organizations should prepare a concrete proposal for the resumption of the activity of Andijan international airport on the basis of a public-private partnership with the involvement of private investors. At the same time, domestic flights from Andijan to other regional centers should be organized,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted the head of state as saying.
It should be recalled that the activities of Andijan international airport was suspended in October 2018.
In August 2019, there were rumors that an international airport serving 4.5 million passengers per year would be built in Andijan.
In December 2019, the airport partially resumed operations after a one-year hiatus.
