Yandex (Yandex Europe AG) voluntarily registered in Uzbekistan as a VAT payer, the State Tax Committee reports.
According to the procedure introduced at the beginning of the year, all foreign companies providing electronic services to individuals in the country must pay value-added tax (VAT).
By now, 13 foreign suppliers of electronic services in Uzbekistan have already registered through the “VAT-office of Internet companies” (http://tax.uz). Among them are Netflix, Google, Samsung, Apple, Booking.com and others.
Yandex entered the Western European market in 2012 by registering “Yandex Europe AG”.
