Two flood-affected mosques in Sardoba being reconstructed by the Vaqf Foundation
Currently, the reconstruction of the “Alisher Navoi” and “Yusuf” mosques in the Syrdarya region, which were damaged by floods, is underway.
Mosques will be built in an oriental style, modeled on national monuments. The project pays special attention to increasing the capacity of worshipers, building a mosque that is modern, comfortable and safe for Muslims.
In June, the chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov, the chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Abdugafur Akhmedov, the regional khokim of Syrdarya Gafurjon Mirzayev, the head of the Public Charitable Foundation Vaqf Iskandar Khalilov and the region’s chief imam Khabibulloh Zokirov visited the Sardoba district, attended the ceremony for the reconstruction of two mosques.
Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov laid the foundation stone of the mosques and offered prayers. A group of religious leaders, led by the Mufti, prayed for those who provided material and spiritual support for the construction of the mosques.
The construction is being carried out in accordance with the design and estimate documentation, the process is being monitored by the Public Charitable Foundation Vaqf. On July 3-5, Board Chairman of the Foundation Iskandar Khalilov visited the Syrdarya region and got acquainted with the construction of mosques.
