“Information on coronavirus deaths in Uzbekistan is not distorted” – Nurmat Otabekov

On July 13, at the AIMC briefing, the head of the State Inspectorate for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Nurmat Otabekov emphasized that the number of coronavirus deaths in Uzbekistan is not hidden, on the contrary, they try to publish all the data in every way possible to encourage citizens to be vigilant.

“Every death is a tragedy. We understand this correctly. All coronavirus deaths in the Republic are added to statistics, even if they died due to other diseases, let’s say, the cardiovascular system, but coronavirus was found in their analyzes.

If you pay attention, on some days, the death toll in Uzbekistan was no higher than 1-2 per day, but now they report up to 6 deaths a day. Therefore, the Ministry of Health provides reliable information on the number of deaths without hiding anything. Once again, the number of coronavirus deaths in the Republic is not hidden at all, the State has no interest in this. In any case, our population becomes more vigilant after learning about the deaths as a result of this disease, so we will definitely provide such data. Our goal is to achieve the caution of our citizens by transmitting the necessary information. For this reason, citizens are provided with specific and transparent information about coronavirus patients.

The sooner we put people infected with this disease in the hospital and create opportunities for receiving medical procedures, the more positive our result will be,” Kun.uz correspondent quotes Nurmat Otabekov as saying.
