Admission to Higher Education Institutions 2020: About 1 million applicants are registered
As of July 14, 2020, a total of 938,952 applicants (including 418,558 this year’s graduates) were registered in the country, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education reported. Of these, by the form of education:
• daytime – 551,257 applicants;
• part-time – 368,916 applicants;
• evening – 18,779 applicants.
By the regional level:
• Tashkent city – 254,059 applicants;
• Samarkand region – 92,014 applicants;
• Andijan region – 74,278 applicants;
• Fergana region – 73,815 applicants;
• Kashkadarya region – 61,085 applicants;
• Surkhandarya region – 57,903 applicants;
• Namangan region – 51,689 applicants;
• Tashkent region – 50,170 applicants;
• Republic of Karakalpakstan – 49,228 applicants;
• Jizzakh region – 44,436 applicants;
• Bukhara region – 39,382 applicants;
• Khorezm region – 35,498 applicants;
• Navoi region – 28,504 applicants;
• Syrdarya region – 26,891 applicants.
In terms of languages:
• in the Uzbek language – 825,036 applicants (88.3%)
• in Russian – 87,071 applicants (9.2%)
• in the Karakalpak language – 24,787 applicants (2.3%)
• in other languages – 2,058 applicants (0.2%).
Higher education institutions (HEIs) with the largest number of applicants:
• Samarkand State University – 50,434 applicants;
• Andijan State University – 40,656 applicants;
• Karshi State University – 36,981 applicants;
• Namangan State University – 34,922 applicants;
• Tashkent State Pedagogical University – 34,452 applicants.
It should be recalled that the registration of applicants will be carried out until July 20 of this year (including the same day).
