Sardor Umurzakov meets with outgoing Ambassador of India
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov met on July 14 with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Santosh Jha, who is completing his diplomatic mission.
According to the MIFT press service, at the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of investment, trade-economic, financial-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.
The sides agreed to continue the joint development of new investment and export agreements in IT, pharmaceuticals, textile manufacturing, agriculture, production of building materials, as well as to hold the first meeting of Uzbekistan – India Committee for coordination and promotion of practical implementation of bilateral projects in the near future, which is expected to become an important step in the sustainable development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the possibility of expanding the volume of financial-technical cooperation between the two countries by increasing the credit line of the Export-Import Bank of India to finance socially significant projects in Uzbekistan was considered.
Following the negotiations, Umurzakov expressed appreciation to Santosh Jha on behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan for the invaluable contribution to the development of bilateral relations. He wished him successful work as an Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Belgium along with accreditation as the Ambassador to the EU.
