Teachers to be paid wages depending on the number of pupils entering higher education institutions
On July 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference on the issues of increasing the employment of youth and women and providing them with a source of income. The head of state instructed to introduce a new system of vocational training in secondary public schools.
“At the meeting, the issues of training and employment of school graduates were discussed. This year, 452,000 boys and girls graduated from secondary public schools. Of these, 70,000 will be enrolled in higher education and 85,000 – in vocational education. It was noted that even if more than 95,000 pupils are employed, it is necessary to provide employment for another 200,000 young people.
It is planned to introduce a system of vocational training from schools. Starting from the next academic year, school principals and teachers will be paid an increased salary depending on the level of pupils’ enrollment in higher education and employment,” the presidential press service said.
To do this, starting from the 7th grade, pupils’ interests in the profession will be determined. Schoolchildren in grades 8-9 will acquire knowledge and skills that will form the basis for promising professions such as programmer, designer, translator. From the 10th grade, training in high-demand professions such as robotics and programming will be introduced.
By the end of this year, 136 vocational training centers and short-term vocational training courses will be established in mahallas, 31 vocational training centers will be equipped. It was noted that 200 billion soums should be allocated from the Anti-Crisis Fund to the Employment Promotion Foundation for this purpose, and training courses should be organized, first of all, in the mahallas with the highest poverty rate.
