Coronavirus cases surpass 25,000 in Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Health reports that another 257 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan.
“As of 10:00 a.m. on August 2, the number of registered coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan stands at 25,040 people,” the report said.
New cases have been registered in 8 regions of the country.
- 103 cases in Samarkand;
- 99 cases in the city of Tashkent;
- 18 cases in Syrdarya;
- 14 cases in Kashkadarya;
- 9 cases in Navoi;
- 5 cases in Namangan;
- 5 cases in Fergana;
- 4 cases in Karakalpakstan.
The Health Ministry said on August 1 that 774 new cases of infection were identified. This is the highest daily growth observed so far.
As of August 1, 835 patients recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recovered to 15,299.
So far, according to official statistics, the number of coronavirus victims in Uzbekistan has reached 148.
