New higher education institution specialized in training investigators to be established in Uzbekistan
In addition, the position of a forensic prosecutor will be introduced in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city prosecutor’s offices.
The President signed a decree on measures to further strengthen the guarantees of protection of the rights and freedoms of people in judicial proceedings.
In accordance with the document, Prosecutor General’s Office:
• will develop proposals within a month for the establishment of a higher education institution specialized in the training of qualified personnel in the field of investigation, together with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant ministries and agencies;
• will introduce the position of a forensic prosecutor in the system of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city prosecutor’s offices within the established staff unit of the prosecutor’s office;
• will take measures to provide forensic prosecutors with modern special equipment within the framework of the funds allocated for the prosecutor’s office in the parameters of the State Budget and at the expense of off-budgetary funds.
